Concept
A stage adaptation of Haruki Murakami's acclaimed, world-renowned full-length novel "The Wind-up Bird Chronicle" was presented in February 2020. It was highly acclaimed by theater and literature fans. However, during the Tokyo performance, the show was suddenly cancelled due to a new type of coronavirus. The disappointment was replaced by a desire to remount the play for another season which will take place in November 2023.
The aim is to further fuse the original work with the theater while retaining the qualities of the original season.
Organizer, Planner, and Producer: HORIPRO
Co-producer: Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space
