Ben Ayalon participates in the "Earth Beat Project" of KODO's "Earth Celebration 2023"

Event Details
Since 1988, the Japanese taiko drumming group "KODO" has invited artists and cultural figures it has met from Japan and abroad to Sado, and has been holding this international art festival “Earth Celebration”. This event is to create a new global culture by mixing diverse cultures in a rich natural environment together with Sado City. This year marks the 36th anniversary, which has a long history in Japan and is very popular with tourists from overseas.
An Israeli percussionist Ben Ayalon will participate in the festival's program "Earth Beat Project".
<Earth Beat Project>
A project that invites folk instrument players from around the world to explore new global music that transcends borders with KODO. In 2023, the festival will invite Israeli folk percussionist Ben Aylon and Choi Jae-chul, a researcher of Korean agricultural music and Japanese folk performing arts at Shiroyama Park, a public creation will be held that will involve the audience there.

Price: Shiroyama Passport One-day Pass 2000 yen
*No application required. During the period, passports will be sold at the Kizaki Shrine Fudasho and Festival Information Center.
<About Shiroyama Field>
Shiroyama Park, where the main concert was held until 2015. Shiroyama, will open as a new camping and outdoor field this year! During the festival period, Shiroyama Park can be used as a special campsite.
<Ben Aylon>
Ben started his journey in West African drumming with Saboula Bangoura, a master drummer from Guinea Conakry living in Karkur, Israel. At 20, Ben traveled to the Gambia twice to research the Djembe drumming. A few years later he travelled to Senegal. little did he know, that this trip will shape his future musical path, setting Senegalese drumming as his primary source of inspiration.
