UP COMING

Event Details

<Concept>

Mitpe Ramon, is a small town in the Negev desert of southern Israel. There is a music program happening which is recently gathering the biggest attention in the Israeli music scene - Internal Compass Music.

Ehud Ettun, an Israeli bass player who’s been one of the most in-demand bass players in the Boston and New York area, has been dreaming of having a music school in his home country for a long time, finally launched his own program in Mitpe Ramon in 2015. Since then, the school has been growing - now the school runs a summer and winter jazz festival every year and has master classes with world-class musicians from all over the country. Now the school has not only Israeli students but also students from Europe and Asia. Internal Compass became an affiliated school of Nebraska University in the US and some music programs in Europe.

In 2022, Internal Compass Japan, read by Japanese pianist Haruka Yabuno, who’s been a musical partner of Ettun for more than a decade, was invited to perform in Israel to have a “Japan Week” - which is a collaboration project between Israeli musicians and Japanese musicians. The tickets for the festival were sold out, and the event was featured in well-known newspapers and magazines such as Jerusalem Post and Ynet.

This year, 4 musicians from Internal Compass Music will be invited to perform in Japan supported by the Embassy of Israel and have a special week of concerts with Internal Compass Japan. You can enjoy the hottest Israeli Jazz music. Each concert has a different kind of style such as an acoustic set, chamber style, small or large ensemble, electric band style, and so on - it’s worth checking out all the concerts from this week.
