Short Film “Outside” directed by Etgar Keret and Inbal Pinto, starring Mirai Moriyama

…The story written during Corona Lockdown became an art film during Corona Lockdown!

Famous Israeli artists Inbal Pinto (choreographer) and Etgar Keret (writer) have teamed up with Japanese leading artists, Mirai Moriyama (actor / dancer) and Umitaro Abe (composer). We released a short art film as an international collaborative work.

The original short story by Etgar Keret "Outside" is a gem short story that tightly condenses the feeling of loss, floating, and disturbing air after the coronavirus has lifted the self-restraint from going out.

Written during the lockdown and recently published in The New York Times. In Japan, the full text was published in the Asahi Shimbun (Asahi Newspaper).

-Proposing a new form of art in situations where you cannot travel-

In the new environment, the shooting was done online by staff from both countries.

It presents the world's audience with a new form of art, and a unique perspective on the impact of pandemics on society and individuals.

-Corona is a mess, but a "Dream Team" is realized!-

This is the first movie work for Inbal Pinto, who has built a solid career in the show business.

In addition to writing, Keret, who co-directs the film, is known as not only as an author but also as a filmmaker who won the Caméra d'Or at the 60th Cannes International Film Festival for the movie "Jellyfish" produced with his wife Shira Geffen.

Mirai Moriyama and Umitaro Abe resonate with their enthusiasm. With the call of the Israeli Embassy, they miraculously gathered in this situation, which would normally be difficult to schedule in a hurry.

Enjoy the special works that share the spirits, exploring new forms of creation.
